Our institution already uses one or more types of process maps. How can we use COOLMaps?

Existing process maps can easily be converted onto a COOLMaps format which will bring your process maps to life. While most companies already have one or more process maps, they are generally focused on narrow issues such as performance metrics and operational risks and are used by a very narrow audience. We can convert your maps to COOLMaps which will provide information sources to release information, uncover hidden risks & issues and provide enterprise collaboration. In this way, the valuable information and metrics embedded within your current maps can be understood and utilized within larger segments and audiences within the company.

How do we know that COOLMaps actually reflect our process?

IMAG will provide trained experts to review your current process and determine that your COOLMaps truly reflect your current process.

Is the creation of COOLMaps time intensive?

Because of IMAG’s expertise in process understanding and design, we can translate virtually any process, however complex, in a short amount of time. With COOLMaps you’ll be able to visualize and modify process and workflow much more rapidly.

How are COOLMaps used for before-and-after-modeling and scenario testing?

COOLMaps are an ideal tool to demonstrate modeling, “what if” and future-state scenarios. They also display variances against best practices and industry standards. They provide useful templates against which organizations can develop internally created model policies, procedures and controls for use across whole areas. The internal communication modules in COOLMaps combined with the highly visual display make it ideal for achieving understanding across geographic and cultural boundaries.

Can COOLMaps be used for training?

Certainly and this is one of their key uses. They are outstanding visual training tools for institutions which must communicate complex process changes to large and diverse audiences across an institution. Since they are so easy to understand, “one picture” really does replace a thousand words. Imagine presenting a training seminar where each department or area which is affected by a process change can simultaneously view the before and after of their own process on their own monitor! Language and cultural barriers disappear and understanding is complete across an organization.

How are our process maps in COOLMaps updated and maintained?

Successful management of process and risk requires continued review and enhancement of your process maps. This can be accomplished with your internal staff working with an IMAG cartographer.

Have COOLMaps been used by auditors and regulatory examiners?

COOLMaps have been welcomed by auditors and well regarded by regulatory examiners as indications that the management teams understand and control their complete process environment and can identify risks and vulnerabilities exactly where they reside. Since the COOLMaps contain robust version control features, past processes “as at” key dates can be instantly called to view for audit and examination purposes. Changes between past and present processes can be immediately displayed. This means that remediation and improvement initiatives can be clearly demonstrated and the documentation regarding the changes can be retained within the COOLMaps logs.

Who provides the COOLMaps and portal access?

COOLMaps are made available to clients through COOL Ventures, LLC, an IMAG Group company. Portal access is provided by VISTECH, a well-known technology firm which designs solutions to meet software, IT and website needs.

What is the real payback for using COOLMaps?

It’s all in understanding risk management and reward. On the risk side, COOLMaps affords management an unsurpassed ability to understand complex process, detect risk, integrate controls in a seamless manner and visualize future process which results from the implementation of new strategies and products. Pro-active risk management will occur immediately. On the reward side, COOLMaps bring clarity and control and the ability of staff to execute and deliver with speed and flexibility. No other mapping tool is designed with these specific risk/reward deliverables in mind.
